Hyundai Santa Fe Head Unit 2013 – 2014 | FAQs

Looking to purchase our Hyundai Santa Fe Head Unit 2013 – 2014? Below are some FAQs to help you with the information you need about the unit. 

  •  Does the unit come with an external mic? If not what is the cost? Yes, your kit will come with an external Microphone free of charge!
  • I note that there are two USB cables provided, are these both single cables, or is one a double cable? Yes, it is a long cable that splits into two USB Ports, one for CarPlay/Android Auto and one for USB/4G Connections.  One cable that splits into two uses a 5-pin plug.

  • With respect to the physical buttons on your unit below the screen, what are the two buttons on the very bottom on either side? Are they actual buttons or are they inputs under a cover? One appears to have a SD card symbol / USB symbol and the other appears to have Aux / SD card symbol? These are physical slots. Left button: SD card slot, USB slot and right button: AUX slot, SD card slot, which you can definitely use.

  • If I purchase the DAB+ option, does this use up one of the two provided USB cables or does it have a separate connection? There is a port at the back of the head unit specifically for the DAB+ so it is a separate connection.

  • The Santa Fe Highlander has a factory amp. Do I need to bypass this amp to connect the speakers, or can you just connect directly to the factory amp without additional wiring? What do I need to ask for when I purchase the item to deal with this? Our head unit has different wiring just for Speaker AMP you can easily connect to as it uses RCA Connection.

  • The Santa Fe Highlander has the climate control information come up on the factory screen. Can the unit read the climate control information and display it. I have seen some YouTube videos of similar looking units that show this being displayed on the new unit, I assume via the CAN bus. Yes, it can.

  • Are the control buttons below the screen set or can they be programmed? For example, what comes up when I select "Navi" is it Google Maps or can I make it Waze. Can the "Band" be set to bring up DAB+. Yes, you can set which app or program would open for the said buttons

  • Does the manual show you how to configure the physical buttons, or is this a simple process via the settings? You could simply configure your steering wheel and the head unit side buttons via the settings.

  • I note some of these android units have special codes to enter the settings area for certain features, is this the case for this unit, and are they supplied if it is? Yup, you can reach out to us for the factory settings password.

  • Can you alter the start-up screen to allow for the vehicle logo? It comes up with our brand then the vehicle logo shows up while booting which is the Hyundai logo

  • Is the Home screen standard or can the UI be adjusted to suit the needs of the user?  The UI is customizable with widgets. You could also set your own wallpaper if you want. UI may be changed within future updates

  • Will the unit come with the latest firmware installed? You'll probably have to update the head unit as we often do updates as we constantly improve the head unit.
